Breaking Down Tesoro's Mission Statement: Women Empowerment

There are many words that can be used to label me and other entrepreneurs like me (designer, CEO, Maker,  Millennial...) Honestly, though, the one we truly never get tired of hearing is girl boss.

Women empowerment is a very important aspect of Tesoro. As a fully women run business, we do our best to support other women with their passions as well. Our photographers, Arantxa Mosqueda, Sabina Sisterovich, and Pam Reed are three very talented local ladies we work exclusively with. We are also lucky enough to carry our bags in several women-owned shops in both West Chester and Philadelphia. After all, isn't it true that we can all go farther when we work together?

In addition to supporting fellow business owners, we also wanted to make the lives of our customers easier. Through our versatile designs (removable/adjustable straps & reversible features), we provide bags that can transition with women from the office or errands to a date or formal event. We understand what it's like to carry your entire life with you in a single bag, which is why we also use light yet durable leathers. Your bag won't already weigh five pounds before you fill it up, which is a huge rarity, amirite?!

So, do yourself and a fellow female a decent thing today, support each other. And remember, you don't need to own your own business to be a girlboss:

"Someone who is in charge of her own life. She gets what she wants because she works for it. As a #GIRLBOSS, you take control and accept responsibility. You're a fighter-you know when to throw punches and when to roll with them. Sometimes you break the rules, sometimes you follow them, but can't do it without having some fun along the way. You value honesty over perfection. You ask questions. You take your life seriously, but you don't take yourself too seriously. You're going to take over the world, and change it in the process. You're a badass." -Sophia Amoruso
