Your Memorial Day Weekend Beach or Rainy Day Reads

Whether you are basking under the sun this weekend or snuggled up on your couch with a bottle of wine, I recommend you have a decent book at your disposal. Getting lost in a good book is truly a great way to unwind and isn't unwinding what three day weekends are all about? Yes, in my opinion, definitely yes.

When it comes to books, it can almost be overwhelming to choose one. Autobiographies, thrillers, romances, chick lit...

So.

Many.

Options.

Lucky for you, reading is my favorite pre-bedtime activity, which means I am a proud bookworm and have loads of suggestions on what you should read.

So please, give your brain a break this weekend and just chill out!

The Vacationers by Emma Straub

This book is a light-hearted escape with a very dysfunctional family on their Spanish vacation. Emma manages to give you all the feels without being too corny. Very important to not be too corny.

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty

From the woman who brought you Big Little Lies, What Alice Forgot begins with Alice waking up to realize she has forgotten the past ten years of her life. Touching and thought provoking, this book makes you wonder, would you be happy with the person you've become over the past decade?

My Journey by Donna Karan

Safe to say I have come to regard this book as a beacon of guidance. A calm within the chaos if you will. And no, the only reason I adore this book is not because Barbra Streisand wrote the forward. Most autobiographies are well done and interesting, but rarely are they so good that they make you change certain parts of your life. This book did. Give it a read and I may even let you borrow my copy if the last person I lent it to ever returns it *cough* Brit *cough.*

The Single Girls To-Do List by Lindsey Kelk

Several years have passed since I last read this hilarious feel good novel, but I don't love it any less. After being dumped, Rachel Summers rediscovers herself, with the help of her two best friends, through a makeover, adventure, and several unexpected romances. This book is the ultimate beach read. And it's under $7 on Amazon, so seriously, just buy it.
