The Chelsea bag is one of our most popular bags. We love it because you can you can wear it as a crossbody or shoulder bag. Some can even also be worn as a backpack. Switch up the chain color or crossbody strap to make it your own!
Raw Materials-
Leather- About $70. Leather is tough to price because it doesn't come to us like fabric. Certain hides can be shorter, wider, some have more scaring and others have a wide variation of weight which can't always be used for each bag piece.
Short Strap- $17.50. The short strap is made by an equestrian company in the Lancaster area. They are sturdy and sleek! I don't have the machine that I would need to make these straps, so I purchase them from a local company!
Cross body chain- $20. Our good friend Kat from Stone Cooper found us some amazing vintage dead stock chains when we first came out with the new Chelsea bags. We have since run out of most of those, so now we get the chains made and powder coated, hence the higher wholesale costs.
Zipper & Hardware- $47. We buy high quality zippers made in the USA. Our hardware comes from overseas, because we don't make enough bags to custom make them here in the USA. We are working on that.
Backpack straps (optional) - Leather and hardware costs- $40
Labor and Fixed Costs-
This bag takes about 4 hours to make between cutting out the leather pieces, sewing the bag, placing the hardware and all of the small things we do to make this bag so bad ass.
Our fixed costs are built in to each bag. They are indicative of our overhead costs like our studio space/retail store, and things like shopping bags, tissue paper, and handbag tags.
Our Margins-
We charge either $350 for the cross body version of this bag and $395 for the backpack version of this bag. The total cost of making this bag is $247.50 and our profits are around $147.50. Give or take depending on whether or not you are purchasing the backpack style of this bag.
The Audrey bag is often the first bag people purchase from Tesoro. The price point is super fair, and its functionality and size make it a great everyday bag. Although the bag comes with a chain strap, you can also purchase a leather strap to go with the bag of your choice. We can also make you a matching belt for the fanny pack feature of the bag!

The Nora tote is the only tote you will ever need. We personally love the winged totes made popular by Hedi Silmane while she designed at Celine. This tote is a little larger, made of high quality leather, and has super clean lines.
